“Will this unit play Netflix and other video type apps through CarPlay?”

• Apple decides what apps work on Apple CarPlay. This is not a function of the in-dash receiver. As of 2022 December, I'm not aware of any video playback available through Apple CarPlay. Navigation, and other location based services as well as audio apps are available through Apple CarPlay.
