• Yes, the camera switches on when the car is shifted to reverse and and vice versa. We had a dash cam, stereo and back up camera installed in my sons car through Best Buy. We have the total tech package which saved on the cost.

• Yes it does, but only if you have a back up camera connected otherwise the screen just turns blank when you put it in reverse.
