Unfortunately it will not mirror your phone. The ones that say mirrorlink will and they use wifi. This one uses usb connection for android auto or apple play and they limit the number of apps you can use. I was also thinking the same but found out after installation that it would not mirror the phone. At first I was disappointed but as I use it more, I like it and understand they limit this for the safety reasons. Georgia is a handsfree state and this works well so far. I hope that helps.
