I tried using another ear piece from a previous Bluetooth, the Planatronics is still uncomfortable.

We don't have other style of ear gels compatible with this model but you might want to try with a different size. Your earpiece includes a medium size ear gel but here are the part numbers for other sizes: Large 201955-03/ Small 201955-01.
