Hi JD. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us with your question. The Ring Alarm Range Extender receives its power by being plugged in to an electrictal outlet. In the event of a power outage, the Range Extender has a backup battery that lasts up to 24 hours. If the device is plugged in and continues to send you low power messages, we suggest moving it to a different outlet.
