It comes with a tool to release the whole unit from the base. You then charge the camera just like a cell phone and pop it right back on the base.

Thank you for your question today! No, the Ring Battery Doorbell was designed with a built-in battery that is not removable. To charge the device, remove it from the mounting bracket and charge it using a micro USB charging cable.
