  • QuestionI bought the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus. If someone presses the bell, will I hear it inside my home? Does it come with a chime, or will I need to buy a chime separately? I currently have a Battery-operated doorbell chime, not a hard-wired doorbell.

    Asked by pmarjun.

    • Answer Hello pmarjun. We appreciate the time you have taken to ask this question. The Ring Battery Doorbell will make an audible sound when someone presses the doorbell button, however, this will likely not be heard from inside the home. The Ring Chime allows you to hear notifications anywhere in your home when someone presses your doorbell or motion is detected. The Ring Chime is sold separately. • Questionhow long does the battery last? and how long does it take to charge after battery is low?

    Asked by Angel.

    • Answer Hi Angel. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. The battery in the Ring Battery Doorbell is designed to go months between charges under normal conditions. However, real battery life is dependent on a number of factors, such as local weather, the number of events captured, and the frequency of activation. It can take up to 10 hours to fully charge the battery. To prevent excessive activity and preserve battery life, under "Motion Settings" for your device in the Ring app, you can: Adjust your "Motion Sensitivity" slider to a lower sensitivity. Redraw your "Customizable Motion Zones." Change "Motion Frequency" to regularly or periodically. You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion. You can go to "Power Settings" in the Ring app to see what features may be draining your battery. To access "Power Settings," open the Ring app: Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the dashboard. Tap "Devices." Tap the individual device (video doorbell or security camera) you want to check. Tap "Power Settings" to check your "Battery Level" percentage and "Feature Power Usage." Tap a feature to adjust "Snapshot Capture," "Motion Frequency," and "Video Recording Length." • QuestionCould someone (especially Ring) explain what happens below 30 degrees? Someone made it sound like it "stopped working" (what? no camera? no wifi?) as if it was fine again when it warmed up? Does plastic crack? We can get below 32 a handful of times a year

    Asked by zinya.

    • Answer Lithium Batteries below 32 degrees suffer a severe capacity reduction, an inability to to deliver high current due to slowed chemical reactions, and potential damage to the battery if charged while below freezing. The good news is that Ring should have a BMS system built in which can monitor temperatures and such.
