Q: QuestionAttn Ring: You have 3 names for models, this one=Ring *Battery* Doorbell, but you said it can also be hard-wired. Correct? If hard-wired into existing doorbell, will existing chime be automatically audible in home, not just in phone? (no Alexa here)

This question was asked about the related product: Ring - Battery Doorbell Smart Wifi Video Doorbell - Battery-Powered with Head-to-Toe Video, Live View, and Two-Way Talk - Venetian Bronze
- A:Answer Hi zinya. Thank you for taking the time to ask this question. Yes, the Ring Battery Doorbell has a built-in, rechargeable battery. It can also be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer for continuous charging (8-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz). To adjust your chime settings in the Ring app: Open the Ring app to the main dashboard. Tap more (•••) on the camera you want to access. Tap your device's Settings. Tap Device Settings. Tap In-home Chime Settings. Navigate to In-home Chime Settings in your Ring app. Tap Automatic Chime Detection. Allow the app to detect the in-home chime, then confirm your doorbell is wired to a chime if prompted. Tap Ring my In-home Chime to hear your in-home chime ring when the doorbell is pressed. Follow the in-app instructions and push the button on your Ring doorbell. If it does not ring correctly, select either My chime rang partially or My chime didn’t ring. The Ring app will adjust the device settings automatically and prompt you to test your doorbell again. If the app is unable to detect an in-home chime, it will redirect to the start of the automatic chime detection process. Q: QuestionAttn Ring: Answering my earlier Q, dmanley says lithium batteries, below 32 deg., stop delivering high current unless Ring has a BMS system built in to monitor temps. Does it? With BMS=smart battery pack, which requires smart battery charger? Pls Clarify.

The Ring Battery Doorbell has a built-in, rechargeable battery. It can also be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer for continuous charging (8-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz). As cold weather sets in, lithium-ion batteries like those used in Ring doorbells and security cameras may experience several issues including trouble holding a charge, running out of power faster than normal, or losing functionality. Knowing at what temperature batteries will start to be impacted can help you take the necessary steps to keep your device working. When the temperature drops to: 36°F (3°C): The battery may not hold a charge as effectively, resulting in having to charge the unit more frequently. 32°F (0°C): The battery may not charge at all. Even hardwired configurations may not charge the battery. -5°F (-20.5°C): The battery may stop working completely until temperatures warm up. When it gets cold and your device's battery runs out, bring your entire device inside and charge the battery with a USB cord. This will allow your device to warm up while the battery charges. Q: QuestionA "con" is listed as "internet connection." Could someone explain what problem they've had exactly and if it was fixable? Was wifi fine? enough?
Asked by zinya.
This question was asked about the related product: Ring - Battery Doorbell Smart Wifi Video Doorbell - Battery-Powered with Head-to-Toe Video, Live View, and Two-Way Talk - Venetian Bronze
- A:Answer Hi zinya. Thank you for your question today! When internet connection is listed as a con, it’s usually related to WiFi or network conditions. Common issues include insufficient upload speed, weak WiFi signal at the mounting location, or router compatibility. The Ring Battery Doorbell Pro requires a minimum upload speed of 2.5 Mbps and supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi. In many cases, these issues can be fixed by improving WiFi signal strength, checking internet speed, or adjusting network settings. Q: QuestionHow far away is good (or ok) for placing it? Current ole doorbells = 9" and 12" away from door. Is that a problem? Does it limit important view areas?
Asked by zinya.
This question was asked about the related product: Ring - Battery Doorbell Smart Wifi Video Doorbell - Battery-Powered with Head-to-Toe Video, Live View, and Two-Way Talk - Venetian Bronze
- A:Answer Hi zinya. Thank you for your question today! Your current placement of 9" and 12" away from the door should not be a problem as long as the doorbell is at the recommended height. For the best performance, doorbells should be mounted 48 inches (1.22 meters) from the ground. The camera on your Ring doorbell has a wide field of view and does not need to be mounted higher or lower to view approaching visitors. If mounted too high or too low, you may encounter inconsistent motion detection or undesired motion events. Q: QuestionHow far apart (exactly) are the two screw holes for attachment to the wall? (Some show or speak of having "brackets" (to insert it into?) but I"m asking about screwing the doorbell directly into the wall?
Asked by zinya.
This question was asked about the related product: Ring - Battery Doorbell Smart Wifi Video Doorbell - Battery-Powered with Head-to-Toe Video, Live View, and Two-Way Talk - Venetian Bronze
- A:Answer Hi zinya. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. The Ring Battery Doorbell does not attach directly to the wall. Included with the device is a mounting bracket. The mounting bracket should be secured to the wall with four screws. The Ring Battery Doorbell is then attached to the mounting bracket.
