Hi JEC. Thank you for your question. No, the Ring Battery Doorbell was not designed to detect motion through windows or glass. The motion detection runs on passive infrared sensors and identifies visitors via a moving heat signature. We recommend installing the doorbell on the exterior of your home, ideally 48" above the ground.
