Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you will be able to use the cat5. You will need to have the ends terminated as the loose wires do not plug in to the ring. You will need a power source in the basement. The ring comes with a power module that basically acts as a booster for the POE. Fist plug the ring included 18” cat5 cord in to your router, next to the power module, then plug your already installed ccat5 into the power module, next plug in the rig at the door. Just that simple.
