- A: AnswerYes, this is completely possible. Once the Ring doorbell is installed you can set up each device in the app and select a separate chime sound for each. This model is great because it allows POE ( Power Over Ethernet)

- A: AnswerHi Bones, Great question. You are absolutely able to install a Ring Video Doorbell on both your front and back door. Since your back door does not have a pre-existing doorbell, I would suggest you purchase either or Ring Video Doorbell or Ring Video Doorbell 2 which can both be battery operated. You can install a battery operated doorbell on your front door as well, however, you do also have the option to hardwire either our Ring Video Doorbell 2, Ring Video Doorbell, or Ring Pro. If I can assist you any further please feel free to email me at Kaitlyn.rosenthal@ring.com. Kaitlyn R., Neighbor Satisfaction Specialist Kaitlyn.rosenthal@ring.com

- A: AnswerHi SteveH, Yes, it's a recessed installation and it should fit in a single gang box. Video Doorbell Elite can only be mounted vertically. Bilan J., Customer Satisfaction Specialist Bilan.jenkins@ring.com

- A: AnswerYes, you will be able to use the cat5. You will need to have the ends terminated as the loose wires do not plug in to the ring. You will need a power source in the basement. The ring comes with a power module that basically acts as a booster for the POE. Fist plug the ring included 18” cat5 cord in to your router, next to the power module, then plug your already installed ccat5 into the power module, next plug in the rig at the door. Just that simple.

Expensive, but great solution.
I installed a wireless, battery powered Ring 3 Plus on a side door with no existing doorbell when they were first released around April 2020. We liked it so much, we wanted another Ring doorbell at our front door, but because of a stone exterior at the front door, there was no flat surface to mount something like the Ring 3. We did have an old intercom speaker mounted in the wall that didn't work that well. I found an electrician who was able to fabricate a PVC plate to cover up the old intercom space and mount the Ring Elite in its place. It turned out great. II had a CAT 5 cable already in place for the intercom, so just had to put the appropriate connector onto the wire and plug it into the Ring Elite. Picture quality is great. No worries about batteries because the Elite gets power over the cable. And no issues with connectivity to the internet as with some of the wireless cameras. This doorbell connects instantly and has been rock solid. I wish Ring would come up with some better installation options for wired cameras. If you can get a CAT 5 cable to the camera, it does a great job.

If you can install, get it.
The product is amazing, great in every way. The only issue I had was how incredibly difficult it was to install and run wires seamlessly thru my wall.

Sleek look
Our first Ring doorbell. We love the Ring Elite and it's sleek look. The phone app notifies efficiently and the audible is very good. Great performance!
