Yes, they do charge for a cloud to store your videos, but they don't monitor. They offer a special for a year of service costing $30. The Ring pro is the better choice. I bought the lower priced one and returned it for the Pro.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes . I pay 100$ / yr for multiple cameras. I think for 1 camera it’s 3$/month. You have to hardwire the Pro video doorbell. The battery one it’s optional. You don’t need the Chime Pro if the doorbell is near a WiFi access point.
