Hello courious, Ring products “see” the world through a network of three linked passive infrared (PIR) sensors. These are heat sensors that detect motion by monitoring heat within the detection area. Since people are hotter than the surrounding areas, as a person enters the detection area, the heat measurements change. The motion sensors register this change as movement and send out an alert. In addition, the PIR sensors are pointed downward to detect motion from five feet to 30 feet away, while minimizing notifications from things like traffic. Our two-way talk feature allows you to communicate with visitors while viewing the video stream. Here is a helpful article about this feature: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/208144516-Using-Live-View. Once you've completed setting up your Ring device in your app, you will be the sole account Owner. As the account Owner, you have control over all the settings on your Ring devices. If you want to use multiple electronic devices (tablet, another phone, etc.) to control your Ring devices, download the Ring app onto the additional devices and use the same login and password you used to log in to the Ring app. For any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out on our community forum at https://community.ring.com/. Thank you, Alexis with Ring

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The motion sensor works excellent giving me all notifications. Multiple phones, tablets can view the same ring, after main device is registered, then each additional device has to be invited in order to use, which is very easy to do. The video quality is very good and has a wide angle camera for more viewing area. If someone pushes the button on your ring device, you can hit on the answer button and talk to them via your device.
