A:AnswerI already have 1 ring doorbell and 1 peephole camera. I asked this question as mine is the 1st generation and you cannot get extra batteries for one that old. I need to know if it is a 2nd or 3rd generation.

The Ring App is designed to notify you of an alert, if you choose to enable these notifications. I love having the feature that allows me to see who is at my door, as well as hearing an alert through my Ring Chime, if I don't have my phone near me at that time.
