Yes, it comes with lifetime subscription. You go through a process of signing up but it costs $0.

I think it does. It shows the shows on OTA broadcasts for 2 weeks ahead. So far that is what I have been getting and I dont pay anything.

You subscribe the apps you want to use, like netflix you tube, amazon, etc. Most of these apps are billed monthly or annually. The Tivo box works as a controller /recorder for local channels, at no charge.
