The 500Gb and 1Tb versions work with an antenna. Do not buy the 3Tb (6 tuner) version as it only works on a cable service
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I cut the cord two years ago and used the Tivo Roamio to help me get rid of cable. I recommend getting a good amplified indoor antenna as well or if you have an external high antenna that will work even better. Setting up the unit took a very long time. I had to call customer service twice and it took over 1 hour for the system to set itself up. Tivo customer service at first did not understand that I was to receive free lifetime TV guide as their other systems are pay per month guides. I had to teach them their own promotions. The unit has many strong positive features beyond some cable DVRs like my favorite commercial skip. If the TV show supports it about 70% do typically current TV shows old retro shows typically donot have commercial skip. But when it does have this feature you hit one button and it advances the TV show to about 2 seconds before your TV show comes out of commercial very handy indeed. If the TV show does not have skip option (I believe Tivo programs the show to make this happen) then you can hit FF button 3 levels of speed and you can still skip commercials or speed things up during the show to skip unwanted areas. Time is short these days and I dont have time for things I dont want to watch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it will
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think the confusion is because there is more than one version of the "Tivo Box" The one that hooks up to the antenna is OTA. Stands for "Over The Air"
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes works great
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it works but I returned it due to a design major flaw. At this premium price, you expect the remote to support the features. Missing on the remote is the "." button which is critically important with OTA reception. Local stations, channel 2 for example, are no longer limited to the single 2.0 like analog, but now can use their channel 2 registration and can subdivide into 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, etc. Locally, MeTV is 2.1. With the remote lacking the "dot" key, the only way to get to there is to open the Guide and scroll through all channels. While not to bad with Channel 2 since it is at the top, but happy scrolling to 68.2!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it will work
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The device is named "Tivo Roamio OTA". The OTA stands for "Over the air" - as in broadcast TV. I have no cable or satellite system and the TiVo works flawlessly.
