you can use any of the audio outputs on your cable box i.e. secondary hdmi output, composite output or optical output to the compatible imput on bose

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You will need a receiver to connect everything and if your TV has HDMI then that's all you would need. I bought an optical cable to use some features on my smart TV that aren't accessible when using a TIVO. So I connect a cable line splitter and run one system through TIVO and then the other cable line to the TV with the optical cable between the TV and receiver so I can still use surround sound. Hope that helps!
