What is the USB port used for? null

The ROKU gives you 2 options to power the unit one is with the included wall adapter the other is to plug the USB plug into the USB port on the back of your TV and let the TV power the unit;

The USB port is used for keeping your roku charged. Depending on what your asking, if you have a device with a USB and it doesn't come with a plug for the wall, that's where you can plug it into your tv.

You connect the USB to TV as well as the Remote sensor is attached with the USB Cord to TV . Donot place the Remote sensor ( black device) behind the TV .

You can use it to connect Roku with the TV and you will no need to use the power supply.
