“Is it necessary to spend the extra money on Geek protection on this vacuum? And do know what the manufacturer won't cover on their warranty? How long is the warranty good for? Thanks”

It comes with either a 5 or 7 year warranty I would say no unless it starts after the manufacturers warrenty expires

The warranty specs can be viewed under the Specs section under the Ratings and Reviews page. I don't remember the specifics of the warranty, but that can be found at sharkclean.com or by calling 877-581-7375. This is the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned, and consumer reports states - Shark has surpassed Dyson as the top vacuum brand.
