• Doesn't get in the way any worse than other corded vacuums--in fact, I think my old Dyson's was a foot or two longer.

• I guess it could be in the way sometimes but if you have ever used a vacuum before you just vacuum with the cord behind you! Also really easy to wrap around the hooks.
