“Just installed my new bar with subwoofer. Can’t play Bluetooth music from iPhone more than 7 feet away without the Bluetooth cutting out and sounding awful. Previous lower-tier Samsung setup was able to play from 25+ feet no problem. Very frustrating”

I am able to move my phone over 30 feet away and still use bluetooth to the soundbar. I would try to delete the connection and reconnect. If that doesn't work I would guess you have a defect with the soundbar.
