I'm happy to help with all of this, Michigangirl! For this model, if the little blue light next to the "Ice Off" button is lit up, then the ice maker is turned off. If your ice maker has been turned on without a water line connection, turning it off should help with some noises. However, I do also have this link (https://bit.ly/3uooHs0) that has some great information about the sounds you may hear from the refrigerator and what causes them.
