Supposedly there are little iron or steel balls in the drum that will automatically balance loads. So if clothes get pushed to one side, the ball move to the other side to balance off the load. The latch hook should click into place. Not sure if the washer considers it locked without this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is recommended for small loads to add towls to balance it out. Otherwise the washer does a pretty good job balancing itself. Don't know about the latch hook, mine seems fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know about the latch but you can use the little feet on each corned of the washer and twist them up or down to balance it better. IF it's not balanced on those it will rock considerably when in spin.

Please try again later.Hi Anonymous, The WF42H5200AP features Samsung's innovative Vibration Reduction Technology that helps to offset an imbalance in the Washer as it starts to spin. It isn't unusual for it to take several seconds for VRT to take effect. Regarding the latch, it's normal for it to feel slightly loose so it can catch the lock as it makes contact. Thanks for the questions, Ms. Samsung
