“stain removal One of the things that I don't like about my current kenmore front loader is that it has no soak setting. Prewashing does not get out the majority of my stains--oil based. Would I be missing the soak setting for stain removal with this washer or would the steam make up for it?”

Honestly, I do miss my soak setting. However, the steam does a really great job of getting out stains. Shout works really great on greasy stains. I would just pretreat your oil based stains first.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately, you do lose a soak setting due to the energy efficiency of the unit. You do, however, have pre-wash, extra wash, and extra rinse options to help compensate. If you use a majority of these options in conjunction with one another, it should effectively remove even oil based stains.
