I haven't used the auto shut off, but you can easily set up a timed bake and it will turn off the oven when it completes the countdown, if that's what you mean. The knobs do not get hot when the oven is on, nor does the glass, if that helps any.

You can program the start time from 1 min - 9 hrs 99 min. and the oven will turn off at the time programed to end. Instructions are in the user manual page 53.
