Local dimming, sound quality, picture quality. I looked at both side by side with the same picture showing. I would suggest you do the same before making a choice. If the difference would only have been money I certainly would have purchased the 8000 instead of the 9000. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.When we looked at the sets at the store, the 9000 seemed to have a bit sharper picture than the 8000. At home, with no other sets competing, the 9000 picture is fantastic. Very sharp and vivid colors. When thinking about having the TV for five or more years, the small difference in price didn't seem that much.
