• Hi Estella, Yes, you can wash a rug through this washer as long as it meets the following criteria: 1. It should not be thick or hard mats that may result in injury or damage to the washer. 2. The rug should not have a rubber backing that may come off and stick inside the drum. 3. The load weight should be 3.0 kg or less. Have a great day. -John
