Yes. This is compatible with 2012 MacBook pro. I just installed this drive in my 2012 MacBook pro and performance of my machine has increased 10 fold.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not sure about the compatability, it was a 2.5 inch SATA drive. I used to think anything with a laptop required an expert, but after watching many YouTube videos I felt confident. I would recommend doing a backup and having a recovery disk handy just in case. Find a good cloning software, I would have used the free Samsung software (from their website), but it didn't support the 860. You will also need a cable. I got mine (Sabrent) for around $10. So save the money and do it yourself.
