Any carrier will need the device number to get it into their system. The unlocked version has several missing features like no WiFi calling that you might want. You'll be better off just buying it from the provider you're going to use in the first place.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you bought an unlocked phone NO!! they do not need the info, just put in your sim card and it should work. If you bought a Verizon phone also try putting in the sim card it should work. I cannot think of any reason other then if you didn't buy the phone from them they will want to charge a service charge; to cover the profit they did not make and to get you to buy your next phone from them. From now on buy unlocked phone they work with everybody. ( So far)
