Do smartwatches need a separate account with the wireless carrier? Or do they get added to current acct or can they work without any addition to your current acct.

The Gear 2 Neo doesn't as it uses your phone via Bluetooth. The Gear S has its own Sim card and will need to be added to either an existing or new account.

No, the Gear S does. The Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo does not require a separate account, it pairs with your current Samsung phone.

This watch (Gear 2 Neo) does not require a separate data/cell phone plan. It connects to your phone via Bluetooth and uses that connection to get all of its info.

Check the watch's phone compatibility though.. I think this watch only works with Samsung smartphones.

Nope not on this one at least, due to it being a Bluetooth connection to your watch.
