I see spotify compatible. If I use google music will the fit allow me any functionality with Google music. Also if I'm playing music stored on my phone that I uploaded from my computer will it allow me to control from the fit or it has to stored on Fit? null

What you'll want to do is to make sure Google Play Music was the last music player you played on your phone. Once you hit play on the watch it will play the last application you had playing. Spotify is a totally different app that comes on the watch. I do wish you could download Google Play Music app for the watch. At any rate..... the watch does have a 4GB internal storage. So you can upload some music directly to the watch itself.

I use Google Play Music, and if I start playing music from my phone I noticed I am able to control it from the Gear Fit 2. Although, I'm not sure if it's because my music is already synced between my phone and the GF2.

I am not sure about functionality with Google music, but it can easily control the music stored on your phone. You can also upload music to the watch and listen with a bluetooth headset without the phone connected.

Pretty sure you can control any music on your phone, the music is not stored on the phone from what ive seen..
