I recently had open heart surgery in January at age 44! I was in need of a good fitness tracker with a heart monitor, the monitor being my main reason for buying this. I looked at Fitbit, heard many complaints about skin rashes...Polar, Garmin...looked at them all...except Samsung. I go to my local Best Buy and start looking. The fitness trackers were right by the SAMSUNG display and the guy suggests the Gear Fit2. I never thought of Samsung for this! I looked at it, immediately loved the display! Very colorful and easy to read. Great features AND they said it was the best for a heart monitor. It was reasonably priced..$179.00 plus tax. I also got the 2 year protection for $30. Not bad. So, I leave the store, constantly checking my heart rate. I go to my doctor for a check up and show them. We tested it by doing it manually....I tested my rate on the watch...spot on! I was shocked! The watch is very comfortable and if you don't use the bluetooth or wifi features, you'll easily get 3 days off one charge.I usually turn on the bluetooth when I drive to get notifications without having to look at my phone. You can select how many apps you want forwarded to the watch. I didn't want a smartwatch because of the poor battery life. You can also stream music through bluetooth to the watch, then to a bluetooth headset or speaker. I've heard this will really drain the battery, but haven't tried it yet.I'm extremely happy with this product. Cool watch faces, calories burned, steps walked, it even asks you how you slept if you wear it to bed. Very cool! If you have any questions, email me and I'll be glad to help!

This has come along ways via updateds. While at 1st I disliked it due to short battery life, but with updates overtime the battery life has been well improved. The strap is terrible, eaily fixed with a replacement purchased elsewhere. I now use this for work (constructiin) and my gear fit2 pro, for after work daily use and excersise. Both work great with bluetooth earbuds for music during excersisng.

I like the sleek design and that this version keeps water log, caffeine intake, GPS and measures flights of floors. I would like the battery to last longer though.

Hi, I picked up Samsung Gear Fit2 at Bestbuy about a month ago. I wanted to use it for a month before writing the review so that it will be useful. Maily, I use the Gear Fit2 for activity tracking like Running/Walking with GPS, steps, heart rate, and also for sleep tracking. 1) Running/Walking: I used Gear fit2 with and without phone while running/walking to GPS track my workouts. I have noticed that when I go for a run longer than an hour, the Fit2 will stop tracking my running and becomes very slow for any touches. As an example, I have enclosed two photo...In one photo that says "Gear2 stopped tracking my run", I went for a 7 mile run and Gear 2 stopped tracking aftre 6.31 miles and became very slow for any touch responses. I was very upset to see such SW issues from Samsung. As a test, during my next 7 mile run, I power cycled the Fit2 before going for a run...The SW freeze didn't occur and fit2 tracked the whole 7 mile run. You can see it in my photo with caption "Gear2 tracking run". 2) Steps: The tracked steps are over estimated compared to Fitbit2 as well as my own counting of steps. 3) Heart rate: Measurement of heart rate either fails are not accurate unless you really tighten the wrist strap to a point that it will start to hurt you. 4) Sleep tracking: I have lot of issue with sleep tracking feature...First of all Fit2 screen gets turned on many times during the night when I turn from side to side. This is very annoying and my wife is very upset about the screen turning on and disturbing her otherwise in a dark room. I have to put Fit2 in "do not disturb" mode to force it not turn on. Sleep tracking is a joke...If I wake up in the night for a bathroom break, the sleep tracking stops and says that I am doing light workout. Also, in morning in the sleep tracking graph, it will show empty saying I didn't sleep during the bathroom break but had a light workout. JOKE! 5) Wrist Strap: The wrist strap started to hurt me at times that I had to move the Fit2 from one wrist to another to stop the hurting. Looks like the wrist strap material is irritating the skin around my wrist. Last but not least, it is not even a month but Fit2 started to chip the matallic paint by the display area. It is cosmatic at this time but I am sure the chipped paint will start to become bigger and noticable. Over all it is an OK with lot of issues that I hope Samsung will address/fix...Otherwise, I will not be recommending this product to a friend and won't be buying any more revisions of this product in the future. Pros - Easy to use - Good battery life - Good when you have a samsung phone - Nice design and easy to use Cons - No calendar - No speaker to talk after receiving calls - Floor climb reading is inconsistent

Stylish, easy to use. I load and unload items all day and I find the style does not interfere with my job. Easy interface with phone. Useful features to keep my health in check. I tried other fitness/ watches but decided on this one for its interaction with my S7. Could use a better way to close the band around your wrist

When the Samsung Galaxy S8 came out, I sold my iPhone and made the switch. The Gear Fit2 is a perfect replacement for my Apple Watch. It works flawlessly with my S8 by passing alert notifications from the phone to my wrist. I can even reply to text messages with personalized canned responses. The display is sharp and bright. I keep mine set at level 10 and can still get a solid two days of wear between charges. At the newly reduced price, I have 90% of Apple Watch functionality at a fraction of the cost.

Reviews showed great ability to perform so I gave it a try and really like the user interface. Good clear images on the screen. Great touch sensitivity. Love the fact that it gives you notification warnings and you can even read your texts in the screen. Reply are limited thought but at that point you might as well just site on phone and reply there. Battery life could be better but for the functionality I don't mind charging it every day and a half since I use it daily.

My wife and myself were looking at the Fitbit equivalent to this band when an associate gave us this option. We went over all the different features on both, we liked the features on this one more. It also runs really well with our Galaxy phones. There is also an "app store" in the Gear app to get different faces to customize the "home" screen.

The gift recipient was very excited receiving this gift. It was able to sync to his Samsung galaxy s6 and provide endless apps for him to explore. It will not work for Iphones, but I have been told it will work with Samsung android phones. The price was worth every penny spent for it.

It does everything it said it would do. I like the fact that I could change the screen and add music into it. I did further research after I bought it, and it appears there are better products out there... However, I am happy with what I've got.

It's awesome for what I need. Just want to reply to my text, answer cell phone and track my fitness.

I like it, easy to change screens add or change what you want on your screen, also the free screen covers. Another good reason is it is accurate on the miles and calories.

Great product, I really love and use my watch everyday on my morning runs!!

The Gear Fit 2 has helped me keep up with my daily goals, blood pressure and heart rate monitoring, and reminds me when I have not been active for 50 mins. The APP allows for goal setting and accountability. I really enjoy my Gear Fit 2 and it has helped me remain committed to my health fitness goals.

Love the capabilities of this device! Read/respond to messages, very accurate fitness and heart monitoring, even senses when you are doing a workout. So many features, definitely recommend researching to use this device to its fullest potential. Two thumbs up!

Two negatives 1. Hard to see the screen outdoors. 2. The belt comes loose. I had to change the belt. Overall is very good

The applications are fantastic. So many options. The fit and feel are excellent. The set up and display options are endless. My overall health had improved in just the first two weeks of using the gear.

I purchased the GearFit2 in Oct. I really loved the product until the gasket around the heart rate monitor on the backside of the unit came off. I was told to send in to Samsung as it was a warrenty issue. I spent over 6 weeks trying to get it repaired to find out that is not covered under the 1 yr warrenty. They were going to charge me $70 to repair the part on back that keeps it moisture proof. The cover and gasket came off under normal wear without being immersed like you would for swimming. I never wore the product at night but people sweat when working out. If it can't hold up to sweat what good is the product. Samsung said it was normal wear and tear and wouldn't fix. it was only 4 months of wearing. Not going to spend $70 additional to fix it when I already spent $170 to purchase it.

Not much to review but I did like the gearfit2, only wish it would work with my windows phone!
