The short answer is no. The increased resolution of 4K will only be helpful if you have a bigger monitor as well. It is a complete waste on a 28 inch for applications with numbers and words. You will have to increase the text size in order to even read it at 4k, which defeats the purpose. Photo editing is the only thing it might be useful for.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yea, you will notice a difference if your system can run UHD monitors. I work with excel some but more often CAD and 3D rendering. The Cad lines and small text is substantially better in UHD, or at least it is on my system.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depending on how you set it up, but you can display way more content or set it up to have multiple sheets open at the same time. I have 2 and use them to work on employees schedules as I need to have them all open.

Please try again later.Excel spreadsheets appear comfortable to the eyes, and you can have so many more columns than you are used to, that you may be creating spreadsheets that nobody else can use, at least not without a lot of screen size changes and scrolling around for themselves.
