The "best answer" up there is wrong. There are three connections but only two types. HDMI (x2) and Display Port (x1). And only the display port is capable of 4k resolution at 60hz

        Answer

You need a video card (GPU) that support 4k output. The GPU will need to have DisplayPort 1.2 or higher which will support native 4k @ 60FPS or GPU cards the have HDMI 2.0 support.

Anyone using this for video editing?   (5 Answers)

Hi, I would like to use this monitor to do some video editing on it. I would think that this a good choice for the task. However, maybe someone did use it for editing and found it to be not so great?! thanks.

          Answer

Bought this monitor to edit 4k videos at home(3840 pixels × 2160 @ 60hz). I use Adobe Premier and Cyberlink PowerDirector. Monitor works great. But for professional editing, then try to get a 32" and up. We have a Samsung 85" 4k QMD85D TV at work that I needed to edit content for and a large format monitor helps reproduce and view content imperfections. Also, this monitor has AMD Fressync that only works with select AMD Radeon (R9) video cards cards. If you have a Nvidia GTX, than look for a GSync monitor.

              Answer

Yes the 26 x 19 includes the table mount the actual screen viewing area is 24.5x13.5 and 28 from corner to corner. If you really want my opinion about this purchase? I think this is one of the best investments for the amount of time I spend working behind the computer. I love the graphics, pictures, and gaming is almost life like at times. I would not hesitate to purchase this product. Heck you could use this as a TV if you watch movies from your computer. Talking about clarity... Ok enough about what I think. Hope this helps you decide.

DisplayPort 1.2 Input ... What does this even mean?   (9 Answers)

I'm just now, in the past hour, looking into 4k monitors and displayport standards. As far as I can tell... this is the only monitor that lists the version of the DisplayPort input. The more I search, the more I'm beginning to think there is no input "version". There is definitely no DiplayPort 1.2 cable, or diplayport 1.3 cable. The cables have no version. So I guess my questions are two. 1. Do DisplayPort INPUTS have a specific version? I'm beginning to think the answer is no. 2. If that's the case, why does this monitor list the input as DiplayPort 1.2?

                Answer

No, display ports don't have version numbers, but the difference is in the cable. If you use anything else besides the display port, the monitor won't play in true 4k. Display port will do 4k at 60 hertz, hdmi does it at 30 hertz. So, just get a display port cable, and be done with it. Just make sure your video card has a display port, or your wasting your time

For PC gaming would it be better to have this monitor with its 60hz but having UHD or going with a 144hz monitor?   (4 Answers)

                  Answer

It's personal preference. Personally, I'd take 1440 with higher refresh rates. Pushing over 100 frames looks amazing, and can make games look so much better from the smooth visuals. 4K is great, but even graphically intensive games can be hard for even high end hardware to stay at 60fps, without turning down settings anyway. 1440 looks great, and you can have the high refresh rates. ...or you could wait for that 144Hz 4K monster from Asus

                  Answer

Yes it will but 4k is better appreciated in bigger screens such as 55 or bigger. It still looks great on this monitor but due to the small size smaller details will not look as good as it would in bigger 4k tvs. offcourse you can only notice the difference if you own both this monitor and a good 4k TV,otherwise you would not be able to tell the difference and using this 4k monitor to watch movies would seems great to you

Hello Dave, I have a MacBook Pro Retina that I use with two of these monitors. They didn't look that good until I plugged them in with active Thunderbolt to HDMI adapters. Don't know if that will help you or not.

I am not sure which graphics card is in the ps4 but It has the correct HDMI connections. I was real shocked that my PC video card even excepted the highest graphics setting too. I don't think you could go wrong with this monitor though. I play BF4 and this screen actually is very lifelike now. In ultra you see every crack in buildings and stuff leaves have definition. You can sneak up thru the grass n stab people. I think this monitor is worth the money. I cant say its helped my gaming but I can say its made my gaming more enjoyable. Before I was using a 32" Samsung 1080p TV. This was so much clearer and my eyes don't seem to get tired as much either. Hope that helps you.
