If you download the PDF manual from the Samsung website- you will find the statement: Select your Displayport. Displayport 1.1 supports High Bit Rate 1, while 1.2 supports High Bit Rate 2. So the monitor only supports DP1.1 or DP1.2 - not DP1.4 as someone mentioned. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort#Resolution_and_refresh_frequency_limits_for_DisplayPort 60Hz @ 4K -> 12.54 Gbit/s for DP1.2 only. If you compare to HDMI 2( use port 2: port 1 is HDMI 1.4) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI 60Hz@ 4K 12.54 Gbit/s - works the same..
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can do it by both DP & HDMI. the Samsung U28E590D supports DP 1.4, along with HDMI version 2.0 output. When you do the research, you'll find that both versions can support $K playback at 60fps. Information sourced from both Samsung product page, along with big name electronic resellers as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should be able to, as should I, but every streaming service says it is not compatible; using display port or otherwise. Don't waste your time on this and get something you know will work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you should be fine using DP. It will also run 4k through "HDMI IN 2" (it has two HDMI IN ports).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Displayport is the best cable for watching anything in 4K but if you have to use HDMI you'll have to use a 2.0 cable.
