It's personal preference. Personally, I'd take 1440 with higher refresh rates. Pushing over 100 frames looks amazing, and can make games look so much better from the smooth visuals. 4K is great, but even graphically intensive games can be hard for even high end hardware to stay at 60fps, without turning down settings anyway. 1440 looks great, and you can have the high refresh rates. ...or you could wait for that 144Hz 4K monster from Asus
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This monitor works well for me at 60HZ

But eyecandy games may be better suited to this one. I'm a pretty avid gamer, but I don't feel like the few miliseconds I might gain at 144htz would be worth it for me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought this first, then decided to go with the 144hz monitor, and I made a good decision with the Dell 144hz from Best Buy. I have a Nvidia GTX Geforce 1080 and, even though it is arguably one of the best graphics cards on the market, the newest games won't be running at 60fps when on ultra graphics. I run games on ultra at 1440p and the quality is beautiful, especially since the Dell is G-Sync compatible. I'd suggest going with the 1440p 144hz.
