• The "best answer" up there is wrong. There are three connections but only two types. HDMI (x2) and Display Port (x1). And only the display port is capable of 4k resolution at 60hz

• This is the most updated answer!! This is the new 2016 Samsung 4k monitor,not to be confused with the old D590, this is the E590 and it does ha e 2 hdmi and 1 display port. You will get 4k at 60hz on the display port and 4k at 60hz on hdmi 2, if using hdmi port 1 at 4k you only get 30hz which is bad so only use hdmi port 1 for 1080p. The old version of this monitor could only get 4k at 60hz via display port

• the best answer from 2 years ago is also wrong. there are 3 connections. 2 being hdmi and 1 being display port. correction is hdmi port 2 and display port are both capable of run 60hz at 4k, not just the display port. hdmi port 1 can run 4k but only at 30 hz.

• You can use HDMI or the even better DisplayPort if your PC allows. The monitor comes with both cords.
