While you can physically use just the rectangular box behind the soundbar and hardwire it with Romex, we don’t recommend it. The SANUS In-Wall Cable Concealer Power Kit is ETL-listed only when installed as a complete kit using the included pre-wired power cable and passthrough system. Modifying it or wiring it like a standard outlet may violate electrical code and void the safety certification.
If you're looking for a hardwired solution, we suggest using an in-wall rated junction box and outlet that's designed and approved for direct Romex wiring per your local electrical code.
