no this drive is for desktop computers or to be used as an external drive if you have the eSATA enclosure kit.

The answer is simple, NO. You need a hard drive that has smaller physical dimension designed for use in laptops. Right on the front of the retail box in fairly large lettering, Seagate indicates if the product is for a laptop or desktop. I looked around on line for the model of your laptop to help determine the age of your equipment. Most of them were configured with a 320GB. There is a small risk and I mean really small that your laptop may not be able to use all of a 1TB drive. Bestbuy sells the drive you need. I just now noticed that you asked this question over two years ago and by now you probably don't even own this laptop anymore. I will post the answer anyway with the hope in can help somebody.
