The Seagate Barracuda 1TB Internal Serial ATA Hard Drive is a SATA 3.0 Gb/sec interface, so the first thing you would want to confirm with Sony is what type of data interface your system uses. If it uses an older PATA or ATA style of drive, then this drive would not be compatible. Please verify with Sony first before purchasing this drive.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would recommend switching to a solid state drive, they are a little more expensive, but worth the money. Solid state drives are a lot more reliable and stable, plus you will see a performance increase.

I do NOT believe that 1TB would be suitable since older PC's have more difficult time BIOS recognizing such a Large Harddrive. I have a Compaq Presario just about as old as your Sony PCV-RX891 . Recommend largest Hard Drive size be 500GB. If you want to use 1TB , 1.5TB or 3TB I highly suggest purchasing a new computer, Sorry! Considering Speed .. find a 500GB 7200rpm unit with 16mb/32mb Cache(Buffer) if need for Main Drive Operating System and Partition it please as Drive "C" for OS and Drive "D" for extra data.
