This is an old question but maybe someone could still benefit from a response. I am sure the PS3 uses a 2.5 inch drive. This is a 3.5 inch drive. If you are still uncertain, open up your box and look at the drive, and the connectors plugged in to it. Then use a search engine for images of "2.5 SATA" and "SATA cable" and the like and I think you'll know for certain. You might also remove the current drive and bring it in to Best Buy and I'm sure they would steer you correctly. I am just trying to be helpful; I don't have one of my own so I'm not an authority on these matters.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. You need a laptop hard drive which is much smaller in physical size. You can get them up to 1 TB. This is a desktop drive which is too big.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No this seagate 3.5" drive is to big to fit inside the PS3, you need a laptop size 2.5" hard drive to put inside the PS3.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can. A PS3 hard drive is really a laptop hard drive and I currently use a 500gb but I've heard of people using a TB drive. People have said you can't but I've seen it done.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It should be - PS3s are designed to accept any standard (2.5") laptop SATA hard drive.
