A:AnswerAlmost certainly 5400RPM. The only 7200RPM external drives I know of are made by G-Tech and Lacie. All others use 5400 RPM, they're cheaper, quieter, run cooler, and require less power.
A:AnswerThis might depend on your recording device. For instance, I use a Sling Air TV to record and it provides a list of drives that are known to be compatible. This drive is on that list.
A:AnswerNo - if your HDD fails, your data is lost (unless you send it off to one of those data recovery companies)...
This is like asking “if my car breaks down, can it still drive?”
Not without repair...
A:AnswerThese small portable drives are rather quiet. Lacie typically uses 7200RPM drives which are louder, but faster. For backups the speed won't make a huge difference.
A:AnswerWhat are you referring to? If you are trying to find out if this is portable or not. It is a portable hhd. There is no automatic backup hardware for a hardware that is connected by usb.
A:AnswerIt is compatible with Windows 7. I got it to put media files on it and have it connected to my Samsung TV. It reformatted without issue. I can view movies and play music directly from the HDD.
