Is this considered a solid state drive null

No, this is a platter drive. A solid state 2TB external would sell for closer to $400 rather than $50.

Hi, TechnoScooter. This is not a solid state drive. In the product specifications it says it is a HDD. If a product is a HDD it cannot be a solid state drive (SSD). Really hope you find this helpful.
