Yes!.. well kind of... You can't click a button to prevent the brushroll from spinning, HOWEVER both brush rolls are removable for cleaning purposes and so can ALSO be removed for use on more delicate flooring. With this, and similar modles, it can he done in a matter of sconds thanks to the "garage door" access to the brushroll. I am a housekeeper by profession and use this model for work. I typically remove the standard brushroll and leave the duoclean brush in place for us on hardwood and laminate surfaces.
