“I already have an alarm system, but looking for an outdoor siren to startle perpetrators. Other than the siren, what else would I need to buy to make this work? I just want to be able to hit a panic button to set off the siren outside.”

You need to have the basic SimpliSafe system. This is a supplemental siren to the basic system. The siren will not work by itself.
