• A:Answer It lets you set different volume levels for arming and disarming all modes. This made it more valuable to me than the main function of an additional siren. I can finally hear that the system is armed when the alarm is set for if a sensor trips.

It can relay certain alerts from the system: countdown chirps, door chimes, and full alarm sirens. We do also have the SimpliCam Security Camera, which we suggest you install outside of your window so that the infrared sensor can pick up intruders.

• A:Answer The Wireless Siren can relay door chimes, countdown timers, and of course actual alarm sirens. Unfortunately, it's not able to relay the Video Doorbell ring, but that feature is available on the Base Station.

Q: QuestionI already have an alarm system, but looking for an outdoor siren to startle perpetrators. Other than the siren, what else would I need to buy to make this work? I just want to be able to hit a panic button to set off the siren outside.

• A:Answer You need to have the basic SimpliSafe system. This is a supplemental siren to the basic system. The siren will not work by itself.

Q: QuestionCan this be remotely/manually activated? Say for example I'm at work and see a suspicious character on my porch, could I activate this with my phone? If not, is there another product that can do this?

• A:Answer At this time, alarm events can only be triggered by the equipment on site. So either a sensor would have to trigger, or you can press the Panic Button on the Keypad, Key Fob, or standalone button. There's no way to do that through the app.
