I got two antennae with mine. The magnetic mounted one on my old car appears indestructible. I have doubts about the other one. I mounted it upside down on, and near the edge, of an eave, using Velcro. Somewhat protected there, and no problems so far. I made a mount for it from two pieces of thin material connected by a single pop rivet thru the center. That allowed the antenna to swivel for fine tuning of direction.

The exterior shell seems to be waterproof, and has handled temperatures between 18 and 110 degrees. We made a small shelf for it and secured it in place with plastic ties. Obviously, we did not harm the shell in any way. The wire needs to be secured also. Before doing anything permanent, triple-check placement of the radio inside the house versus where you can get outdoor antennae reception. The wire isn't long enough, IMO. We have lots of trees around the house and still get great reception 98 percent of time.
