The credit-card-sized Sirius receiver comes with a separate antenna a little smaller than a playing card. The antenna has a long cord attached. The antenna needs to "see" the Sirius satellite, which is in the general direction of Texas. The apparent altitude of the satellite depends on your latitude. (It appears quite low to me because I live pretty far north.) The further south you live, the higher the satellite appears to be. The antenna does best without obstructions like metal siding, window screens, double pane windows. Carry it around and test locations. I mounted mine upside down under and near the edge of a south side eve using Velcro. Protected and it works fine.
