A:AnswerHi Texas homeowner. The Sonance MAG6R speakers are designed to be used in spaces (indoors) that protect the speaker from excessive heat, cold, water, moisture, etc. I would not install them in a space that is open to the outside elements. We do have a speaker that designed specifically for harsh environments it's our Visual Performance Extreme line of speakers which can be viewed here:

A:AnswerThanks for your question. The MAG6R speakers are built for and sold exclusively at Best Buy. Because they are designed and developed separately from the speakers in our VP line, it’s difficult to draw a comparison. If you need additional information, please give us a call at tel:949-492-7777 and ask for Tech support. We will be happy to help you out. - Sonance Customer Support Team.
A:AnswerGarage yes, patio...that is iffy. They're not technically outdoor speakers, but I would feel confident if this was installed in an outdoor ceiling (screened porch or sun room) where they would be protected 100% from precipitation. If it's just under an eave, then no way.
A:AnswerI have a 5.1.4 system and use the Mag6r's in the ceiling. I used the sonance visual performance 6-1/2" 2-way in-wall speaker for my center channel speaker. And holy crap does it sound amazing. The best buy theater guru informed me the center channel would not be a speaker to skimp on. It is pricey, but well worth it.
A:AnswerHi Bass, Thank you for your question. The grille is 9.76" in diameter. If you require additional help please give us a call at 949-492-7777 and ask for Tech support. We will be happy to help you out. - Sonance Customer Support Team

A:AnswerI had the same problem I had my cable box straight to TV and my Audio came optical from tv to my onkyo. The fix was to go from my box to my receiver and use the receiver hdmi out to tv and they worked. Hope that helps.
A:AnswerThanks for taking time to write us with your question. The MAG6R speakers are not designed to be installed or used outdoors. Our Visual Performance Extreme speakers (VPXT6R) are designed specifically for outdoor and marine use. I hope this answers your question and thanks for writing us. - Sonance Customer Support Team
A:AnswerIt does require 6” if installation depth. I installed one set in a wall that was opposite side of the garage which allowed me to build a box that increased the bass big time!
A:AnswerThey can but car speakers would work better. Home speakers are built assuming you be using 65w-100 and something watts. They have higher residence and lower sensitivity. Most car audio recorders only put out 25w and prefer 4 ohm speakers. In other words they will work but not be very loud and lower wattage means higher distortion at high volumes. If you are going to run them in a motor home I recommend installing a separate amplifier to power them.
A:AnswerHi,
The frequency response for the MAG6R speaker is 45Hz - 20kHz ±3dB. Feel free to give us a call at 949-492-7777 if you have any additional questions.

A:AnswerNot measured precisely, but looks like about 30 degrees for the mid-range speaker and about 15 degrees off-center for the tweeter. So, about 45 degrees max for the tweeter, at which point, some of the sound is definitely going to be internally reflected. Mine are set up like that now to point the tweeters at my couch and due to low ceilings, that makes the sweet spot for listening about one foot in front of my couch, on the floor. It’s not at all bad if the tweeters are not pointed right at your ears, but better if they are.
A:AnswerHi, not sure on crossover frequency, I have them in use with similar and bigger recievers. no issues.
I would suggest the mag8r if you are concerned about too much power.
