They do not block noise out at all. They are really good at blocking sound around you but the other person on a call with you will hear everything you hear

The mic is positioned on the left side and seems to pick up my voice fairly well. The noise cancelling only blocks background noise in what you hear not what the mic picks up.

The microphone blocks the noise real good and voices is clear at all Time. The only down thing is the battery doesn’t last that long. I have to charge this unit every day. As long as I use it.
